Terms of Use

These are the RouteBeer Terms of Use (EULA) for the RouteBeer app. Using the website? See the website terms.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an end-user licence agreement between you and the operator of RouteBeer ("RouteBeer", "we", "us"). They apply to the RouteBeer mobile app on iOS and Android and any related services (together, the "App").

By creating an account, signing in, or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, these Terms are between you and RouteBeer only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you.

2. Zero tolerance for objectionable content

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We review every report within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these terms, and suspend or terminate the accounts responsible.

You must not post, upload, send or share anything through the App (including usernames, bios, profile photos, route names and descriptions, tags, crawl names, comments, photos and captions) that:

The App automatically screens text and images for objectionable content and may block or remove it. Automated screening is not perfect, so we also rely on reports from users.

3. Reporting and blocking

You can report any route, comment, photo, profile or user from the "⋯" or long-press menu next to it. Reported items are hidden from you straight away.

You can block any user. Blocking hides their content from you and yours from them, removes them as a friend, stops friend requests and invites between you, and notifies us. You can unblock people from Privacy & data > Blocked users.

We review every report within 24 hours. If content breaks these Terms we remove it, and we may suspend or permanently terminate the account that posted it. Content reported by several people may be hidden automatically while we review it.

4. Eligibility and your account

RouteBeer is about going to pubs and bars. You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to buy alcohol where you live, to use the App.

You are responsible for your account and for everything posted from it. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account.

5. Drink responsibly

The App helps you plan and track nights out. It does not encourage excessive drinking. Games such as pub golf are optional; you can always choose soft drinks or water. Never drink and drive, look after your friends, and follow the law and venue rules.

Venue details, opening hours, walking routes and times come from third parties and may be wrong. Check before you travel and take care when walking between venues, especially at night.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and share it within the App, as needed to run the App and according to the visibility you choose (for example, public routes are visible to all users; crawl comments and photos are visible to crawl members).

You confirm that you have the right to post your content and that it follows these Terms. We may remove any content, at any time, that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, without notice, if you break these Terms, post objectionable content, abuse other users, or misuse the App. Suspended users cannot sign in.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Licence to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and any applicable app store usage rules.

You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the App or its services, or use it to build a competing product or dataset.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The App is provided "as is". We do not promise that it will always be available, accurate or error-free.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything that happens at a venue or while travelling between venues. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change we will ask you to accept the new version in the App before you continue using it.

11. Law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
